Strawberry Protein Smoothie Bowl

Berries in general may be a little exxy right now – but strawberries are great value – fresh or frozen. I would recommend you sub in sugar free maple syrup and change up the granola for plain rolled oats – enjoy! Read More

Purple Power Smoothie

Here is ONE way to make a fabulous beetrooty/berry smoothie. You can also try – Using V8 Purple Power juice as a base Adding in Arepa nootropic powder  Adding in extra veggies for nutritional density – think watery veggies like radish, spinach and cucumber. And don’t forget you can stack in your supplements too so hello to all my perimenopausal and menopausal women – think BCAA”s with a higher Leucine component and creatine. You could also add Collagen if you choose. Have fun and experiment! As we head in to the warmer weather smoothies become such a brilliant option ( I know they aren’t so appealing when it’s freezing outside) so have a play and let me know YOUR favourite smoothie! Mediterranean Breakfast Wrap

I’m a big fan of not limiting your meals to prescribed times. Oats for afternoon tea? –Why not!  Tofu and vegies for breakfast? Yes please Mummy! You may know already that I start every morning with a couple of forkfuls of sauerkraut – yes, I really do. I figure some good healthy fuel for my empty gut and feeding the good bacteria is a ripping start to my day. There is no research behind this, this is just a GUT feeling*. (See what I did there?)   Anywho! I’m sure you can see from this wrap recipe that there are lots of different things you could do here – only egg whites? Sure! Les oil – absolutely! Canned tuna? Of course! Etc etc. I know you folks are on the run a lot of the time so make it to eat in the car on your way to school drop off or wahtevs – delicious!   *This is not a joke. I eat sauerkraut every morning Read More

Kuku Shabiz Herb Fritatta

Remember the days when you’d be invited to a BBQ and it was sossies in bread? If it was  super fancy there were fried onions?  But now, when you go to a casual backyard barbie it’s all pulled pork (smoked in the smoker over hickory wood) served on soft bap buns by a butler? Yeah? So anyway this frittata is kind of same same. It’s a little bit fancy schmancy. It is no harder to throw together than our dear old favorite the zucchini slice, but with the addition of gorgeous herby olivey goodness it’s a real taste sensation. Pssst – want to up the protein and bring the energy down? Decrease the number of whole eggs but add more egg whites. You could also add extra protein in the form of animal or plant – eg tofu. Personally I'd also add anchovies Read More

Air Fried Tofu Balls with Sweet Chili Sauce

I love this recipe because despite every person I have ever met saying they loved their air frier I was yet to purchase one. Until my entire kitchen was ripped out two weeks ago and I realized I was going to be sans oven for 4 weeks so I bought a large air frier from Aldi online and now I nag people who haven’t bought one yet. “What? You don’t have an air frier?”   This recipe can be easily modified to bring the energy down. For example as soon as I see coconut sugar I would sub in a low calorie substitute such as monkfruit sweetener. If I’m honest I probably wouldn’t even worry about the sauce Id just use Mingle Better Sweet Chili Sauce which is less than 1g of sugar per serve and super easy. Read More

Breakfast Rosti

Thanks largely to my pal Jen Elwood, (Instagram @vegan_jen_) I’ve been forging a mainly plant based eating path over the past few months – how about you?  I thought you might like this recipe (which isn’t actually vegan what with the yoghurt – although you could sub in a vegan version such as coconut yoghurt) as honestly, what’s not to like about veggies for breakfast.  This is such a refreshing change from avo on toast which really has been done to death. I would add in some fresh or roasted cherry tomatoes with lots of salt and pepper too. Try it in the air fryer to limit extra oil and add extra crunch Read More

Vegan Tofu Scramble

You might feel like me – that veganism is the way of the future. I was so positively influenced by my interview with Jen Elvood (go follow her on insta @vegan_jen_) that I have added lots more vegan meals in to my week – and I thought I would share this one with you.  We all have go to meals and scrambled eggs is a common one – here’s an easy way to substitute tofu for eggs.   One final note – nutritional yeast has a delicious cheesy flavor so is often used as a cheese substitute in recipes – it is easily available at health food shops.
