+ Are you a circuit class? How are the sessions run?

Most sessions in a gym are a sort of circuit, however to be more specific – it is not circuit style in that there is no timer and we are not competing against the clock or working to time.  Our programs are set on sets and repetitions (periodised across a ten week block) and essentially you work at your own speed – so the vibe is relaxed and supportive – we aren’t going to shout “go faster”at you any time soon. Likewise, we do not do burpees or battle ropes in the middle of a weight training session. We focus in excellent form, progression, overload, eating well and moving plenty.

 

+ How are you different?

Firstly, not to tootle our own trumpets, but we really, really know our enchiladas. Nikki our Director and studio owner was an academic, specializing in resistance training and worked as a lecturer in the College of Exercise and Sport Science for seventeen years - ten of those teaching and coordinating the resistance training subject. She has taught over three thousand exercise science undergraduates how to lift weights. She has presented at international conferences, co-authored two books and our studio is award winning. Nikki has been nominated by Telstra for the Telstra Businesswoman of the Year Awards for the past four years. We have been able to continue to build Cinch throughout the big lockdown of 2020 as we have diversified into online training, livestreaming, remote coaching via our app, and a connection and community that you will love. We live and breathe what we do and absolutely love seeing our clients achieve their goals. + How long is a session?

+ Is there a lock in contract?

No

 

+ Can I pause my membership when I go on holidays?

Yes – we have different options for our holiday lovers (we love holidays too!) you can pay a small extra amount weekly to allow you to pause your membership for two, four or six weeks per year, or you can opt to pay a minimum weekly amount of $87 and not pause. Wherever you are in the World, you will continue to be able to livestream in to sessions, access our video library and access our continually updated app – we’ve got you covered!

 

+ I have an injury – should I do group pt or one on one?

We are very used to collaborating with our clients’ allied health professionals, however if you have an existing injury that may be affected by exercise, we will assess where you are at  and map out an exercise pathway for you. This may mean some one on one PT sessions prior to integrating you into group PT, or it may mean referring you for some clinical pilates sessions, or a referral to an exercise physiologist. Although we love new clients, we are quick to refer on if we are not right for you right now.

 

We are also thrilled to let you know that as of March 2023 we have our own inhouse sports chiropractor, Dr Lyndall Daley who has a clinic three days per week within the Cinch studio. We have a very close working relationship with Lyndall and she is absolutely fabulous at what she does. (Read more about Lyndall on our staff page). Through Lyndall we are able to create an injury management pathway from assessment and treatment, through to rehab and some one on one sessions through to full integration in to small group PT – Lyndall even takes some of the group PT sessions – as well as being a besotted lifter herself! We are very proud and happy to be able to offer you this incredible service should you currently have an injury.

 

+ Are you still taking on new clients?

Great question! Although we can take on nearly unlimited online and remote clients, our bespoke studio in Heidelberg is nearly at capacity. We have put on extra sessions to satisfy the demand, however to give each individual client an incredible experience, we will need to cease taking new clients face to face some time in the next three months. So, if you are thinking about joining, please contact us as soon as possible so we can save you a place.
